Well, here we are day five and the time is winding down on our Irish adventure. Today we are off to the Cliff’s of Moher. As usual, a bit cloudy & chilly to start the day. Got there at a decent time and the tour buses were at a minimum. We donned our windbreakers and carol her toque.
I have to say at this point Carol has been a trooper. A hip replacement in February that was supposed to be completely back to normal for this trip has not gone as planned. She soldiers on. Up to the first look out point and I leave her there to enjoy the view. I am now head beyond the controlled area with all the other brave souls (fools).
The skies start to clear and the Cliff’s do not disappoint. Head up to the right of the visitor’s center is beautiful and edge clinging terrifying at points.
Back down to the shops and I leave Carol and head up to the left side for more spectacular views. You have to visit both sides to really appreciate the vastness of
these wonders. Hands down, the most spectaculars images from the trip.
Well the weather is turning a bit and me thinks its time for a pint and some lunch. Back into town and we head to Gus O’Connors pub – Irish Stew and a pint. Now to head up the road to check out the pier area and information on the Aran Island tours for tomorrow.
Oh yeah and to cuddle the cutest puppy in the neighbourhood.
Twisty roads, babbling brooks, baby lambs, cows and rocky shores. That about it for today. Now for something different we will find a pub this evening with grub and Irish music.
