All right, up at the crack of mid-morning, haha, a bit of jet lag. Ready for our first adventure on the island. The town of Kinsale was our destination for a bite of lunch and a pint.
The drive down was winding roads, castles and beautiful landscape. Hard to keep your eyes on the road.
Speaking of roads, when they measured the width of two small cars side by side, they forgot to include the length of the 2 side mirrors of both cars and that’s about the width of the roads. So every time you round a corner, and let me tell you there are plenty of corners, you squeeze to the left hold tight and tighten your stomach and other parts and sail on by at 80 kph.
Arrived in Kinsale on a Monday. Tourist season has just ended and the kids are back in school. So it was a nice easy walk around town with not much going on. Really cute little port town.
Back through the countryside to our hotel in Killarney. A glass of wine, freshen up and let’s head out to find some live music. We found the public parking area and the sound of Authentic Irish music blasting out of one off the pub across the street. Scruffy’s seemed to be the happening place.
What a great find, and the Guinness was flowing easy. The music was Loud, Proud and full of life. The Tinteáns were filling Scruffys with plenty of joyous music.
We were headed out for diner but never made it. I blame Guinness for that. Anyway, we found yet again another Fish & Chip joint open late and grabbed some Take-Away. Best F&C's we had that week.
Okay time to get some rest and plan the Ring of Kerry for tomorrow.
