Well it was off to Ireland over the past week. Lets start with it has to be one of the best trips Carol and myself have taken. Not really knowing what to expect our expectations were surpassed with the visual and physical beauty of the land and the people.
Now at this time Carol is still working through a hip replacement from February. We had planned the trip for September hoping that Carol would be in prime shape as suggested from the surgeon.
Well not so, but she was a trooper and just kept going for the visit to the land of lush landscapes and Irish beer.
We headed out on a Saturday evening from Calgary, direct flight to Dublin. All went well with the 7 hr. flight. Flew on the new 787-900, beautiful aircraft.
Landed in Dublin around 11:30 Sunday morning. Claimed our luggage and it was off to the Rental Car area. This was going to be fun as it was my first time driving on the left side of the road. Managed to get a manual transmission, which made it even more exciting.
Okay, now to figure out the map and head to Killarney.
Arrived in Killarney around 5:30. Settled in at the Killarney Riverside Hotel, and headed down to the pub for a pint and some fish & chips. Thumbs-up to both. A few pints and glasses of wine and Carol and I were done.
